On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Tyla revealed plans to release a new single titled “Chanel” on Friday, Oct. 24. She urged fans to pre-save the track and teased visuals from the song’s shoot, appearing in a blonde bob in the preview images.

Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Tyla directed followers to the pre-save link in her bio while celebrating the record: see the post on Instagram. A follow-up IG post on Thursday, Oct. 16, reinforced the single’s release and framed the record as an ode to her supporters.

Fellow artists have already reacted to the sneak peek. Zara Larsson praised an a cappella preview Tyla shared, while Doechii complimented a moment in the clip that dramatizes a wig-snatching reveal. (See Tyla’s snippet on Instagram here.)

Tyla first previewed “Chanel” live during her set at the Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in Central Park this past September. Earlier in the year she sported Chanel at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, where she won Best Afrobeats for a second consecutive year with “Push 2 Start.”

“Chanel” arrives roughly three months after Tyla’s four-track EP WWP (We Wanna Party). That EP — which features the Wizkid collaboration “Dynamite” and the Coachella-debuted single “Bliss” — climbed to No. 11 on the World Albums chart. Since releasing WWP, Tyla has contributed vocals to several notable projects, including Cardi B’s Billboard 200–topping sophomore album Am I The Drama? (“Nice Guy”), Teyana Taylor’s Escape Room (“Pum Pum Jump” with Jill Scott), and Lojay’s XOXO (“Memories”). She also worked with Damiano David and Nile Rodgers on the track “Talk to Me.”

Meanwhile, fellow artist MOLIY announced a collaboration with Tyla called “Body Go,” scheduled for release on Friday, Oct. 17.
