TWICE’s Tzuyu Teases Her Cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘ME!’

You’ll never find another like Tzuyu.

The Taiwanese K-pop star is set to release a cover of Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie’s “ME!” next at midnight Korea time Monday (June 28), which means 11 a.m. ET Sunday for fans in the U.S. A 10-second teaser video for the cover, which features the TWICE singer in a room full of balloons as a snippet of the song plays, was posted to YouTube Tuesday (June 22), and already has more than 1.7 million views.

The cover comes as part of TWICE’s Melody Project, a series of covers from individual members of the K-pop girl group posted on their YouTube channel. Designed to showcase each of the nine members’ solo abilities, the project dates back to 2016.

Tzuyu’s bandmate Mina kickstarted the Melody Project five years ago with a cover of “Good Person” by Park Hyo Shin. Next came Sana with a video of her dancing while dressed as Harley Quinn, followed by Chaeyoung’s cover of “Alone” by Dalchong. Jihyo put her own spin on her Melody Project contribution by performing a live concert in 2017, Nayeon covered two Ariana Grande songs — “Santa Tell Me” and “Love Is Everything” — and Dahyun covered “Reminiscent” by Yiruma. Dahyun and Chaeyoung were the first to do a collaboration for the Melody Project, releasing a duet of Rain and J.Y. Park’s “Switch to Me” in February.

Beyond the continuation of the Melody Project, it’s been a big month for TWICE. They earned their first top 10 spot on the Billboard 200 this week with their new album Taste of Love, which dropped June 11 and debuted at No. 6.
