After keeping the details under wraps for several weeks, the organization confirmed the roster today via its social media platforms.
When his selection for the official NFL stage was first announced, Bad Bunny shared an emotional statement reflecting on the cultural weight of the performance. “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself,” the artist remarked. “This is for those who cleared the path… it’s for my people and our history. Go tell your grandmother that we are the Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
The Puerto Rican icon arrives at the Super Bowl on a wave of historic momentum. On February 1, he secured a landmark victory at the Grammys when Debí Tirar Más Fotos became the inaugural Spanish-language project to claim the Album of the Year title. His decorated night also included wins for Best Música Urbana Album and Best Global Music Performance for his hit “EoO.”
However, the choice of Bad Bunny has not been without its vocal detractors. Former President Donald Trump expressed his disapproval to the New York Post, stating he would skip the game entirely. Trump criticized both Bad Bunny and Green Day—who are slated to open the Game Day festivities—labeling the selection as a “terrible choice” that encourages division.
