These are announcements that no one had seen coming but which did not fail to react: Netflix has just announced and formalized the production of two animated series around Tomb Raider and Kong Skull Island. The timing, perfect, comes just after the announcement of the change of director for the sequel to Tomb Raider with Alicia Vikander, and the first trailer for Godzilla vs Kong. The opportunity to learn that for the animated series Tomb Raider, Netflix has partnered again with the Powerhouse Animation studio to which we already owe the Castlevania series, already broadcast on Netlfix. Regarding the Kong Skull Island series, Netflix preferred to trust Legendary Television to release two animated series which will be based on films released in theaters. The idea is indeed to expand the Monster-verse, knowing that for the first time, we will find adventurers who will discover Kong Island for the first time. No release date, neither for Tomb Raider nor for Kong, has been communicated for the moment, and it is not even known if the production is well advanced or not.
Good evening, we are preparing a Tomb Raider anime with the Powerhouse studio (Castlevania)! We will follow Lara Croft after the events of the last trilogy rebooted by Square Enix.
Exploration will start soon!
