The Wolf Among Us 2 Rebooted Again: 7 Years of Work and a Fresh Start – Reports
Spanning nearly a decade, the convoluted development of The Wolf Among Us 2 has evolved into a saga as dramatic and unpredictable as the noir world it depicts.
The project was first announced in 2017, only to be derailed by the sudden collapse of the original Telltale Games in 2018. Following the studio’s resurrection under new ownership, veterans from AdHoc Studio were recruited in 2019 to draft the script for the entire season. However, by 2023, the team parted ways due to creative friction, a move that appeared to signal the definitive end of the title’s troubled journey.
Yet, according to reports from PressOver dating to March 2026, the sequel has undergone another comprehensive reboot. Development is now reportedly a joint effort with an undisclosed studio in Argentina. Sources indicate that Telltale executives visited South America in late 2025 to kickstart production from square one. The identity of the new partner is being kept strictly confidential to shield the development team from the immense external pressure associated with the franchise.
