The Vampire: The Masquerade Team’s Post-6th Edition Plans Are Even More Surprising

Although Vampire: The Masquerade 6th Edition took center stage during White Wolf’s major showcase at Gen Con 2026, the tabletop RPG publisher also offered exciting glimpses into which classic World of Darkness properties are slated for resurrection. Among these upcoming projects are some thrillingly unexpected legacy titles, most notably Changeling: The Dreaming.

During the Future of White Wolf panel, World of Darkness Creative Director Jess Lanzillo announced that brand-new editions for Mage: The Ascension, Changeling: The Dreaming, and Vampire: The Dark Ages are officially in development. While specific details remain scarce, Lanzillo hinted that these upcoming iterations will evolve from the foundational mechanics established in the latest edition of Vampire: The Masquerade.

Each installment within White Wolf’s interconnected franchise explores a distinct corner of a shared, shadowy universe. Mage: The Ascension centers on reality-bending mysticism through an intricate spellcasting framework, whereas Changeling: The Dreaming revolves around ancient fae spirits awakening inside mortal vessels. Meanwhile, Vampire: The Dark Ages transports players deep into the medieval origins of the iconic clans. Compared to the publisher’s flagship properties, these niche titles have seen significantly fewer iterations and have remained dormant for quite some time.

When asked why these specific three TTRPGs were chosen for a comeback, Lanzillo explained the luxury of working within a boutique creative team. “The coolest thing about this studio being so small is that these are the things I want to do. It’s great,” she shared during the panel. “We need them. These are all of my favorite games in the whole world.”

Devotees of Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Hunter: The Reckoning might feel left out by their absence from the current roadmap. However, Lanzillo clarified that because those particular systems already boast robust, well-maintained 5th Editions, the studio is intentionally turning its attention toward long-neglected gems first. As for other fan-favorite lines like Wraith: The Oblivion, Mummy: The Resurrection, and Demon: The Fallen, their potential revival remains unconfirmed.

An exact launch date for Vampire: The Masquerade 6th Edition is still under wraps, but Lanzillo noted that her creative division aims to publish a new core rulebook annually. Once White Wolf reestablishes its production rhythm, tabletop enthusiasts can likely look forward to a consistent stream of releases.
