Academy Award nominee Autumn Durald Arkapaw, the acclaimed cinematographer behind the buzzworthy horror film Sinners, has been tapped to lens the upcoming The X-Files reboot. The sci-fi revival is being spearheaded by filmmaker Ryan Coogler, who also remains a prominent contender in this year’s Oscar race.
The series is expected to follow a procedural “monster-of-the-week” format, introducing a new supernatural threat in every episode while simultaneously weaving a serialized narrative arc centered on its protagonists. Danielle Deadwyler, known for her performance in Carry-On, is reportedly being considered for one of the leading roles.
An official release date for the reimagined series has yet to be announced.
