The Russo Brothers are creating an animated Magic: The Gathering collection for Netflix

Magic: The Gathering is about to turn out to be slightly extra mainstream due to Wizards of The Coast, which is collaborating with Netflix and the Russo Brothers on a brand new animated collection.

Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame) will function govt producers on the collection. Henry Gilroy (Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: The Clone Wars) and Jose Molina (The Tick, Agent Carter) will function lead writers and co-executive producers.

“We have been huge fans and players of Magic: The Gathering for as long as it has been around,” the Russos stated. “… so being able to help bring these stories to life through animation is a true passion project for us.”

The collection, merely known as Magic: The Gathering, will inform a wholly new story that expands on the tales of the Planeswalkers. For the uninitiated, Planeswalkers are the heroes and villains in Magic lore who can wield magic.

Who higher to depict that magic than Bardel Entertainment, the studio that produced collection like The Dragon PrinceRick and Morty, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? The creatives there, whose work can be featured in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Batman: The Animated Series, and The Lego Movies, will tackle full manufacturing of Magic: The Gathering.

Netflix has not introduced a launch date for Magic: The Gathering presently.
