The PS4 Pro is “like a five-year-old PC” and is holding video games again, says developer

Unveiled throughout EA’s E3 convention, A Way Out appears to be like promising – from the crew behind Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, the co-op journey recreation presents asymmetrical drama stuffed with jail breaks and male bonding. Its developer, Josef Fares, has been giving out interviews about his studio’s new recreation.

In a chat with Engadget, Fares was speaking about displaying his recreation on PS4 Pro, and all the benefits that supposedly had. Fares says there aren’t any, actually. 

“Do you want the honest truth? This machine, [the PS4 Pro], is not so strong as you think,” stated Fares. “This is like a five-year-old PC. If consoles were as powerful as PCs are today, you would see all different games. Most of the work developers put out there is to make them work on consoles.”

He appears to recommend that optimisation efforts for consoles slows recreation improvement down, whereas the specs themselves bottleneck builders, stopping them from doing the whole lot they need. 

While consoles have related structure to PC today, it’s clear there’s nonetheless an enormous hole by way of energy, even with these mid-generation upgrades. We’ve reached out to Fares to make clear his feedback additional.
