The Name of the Merged Paramount and Warner Bros. Company Has Been Revealed
The unified entity formed by the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. will operate under the name Skydance, as announced by Paramount President David Ellison.
The extensive Skydance portfolio will now encompass DC Studios, the HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming platforms, as well as the CNN, CBS, and Nickelodeon networks. The monumental transaction is valued at $111 billion.
In September, Paramount resolved legal challenges from 12 U.S. states and the Writers Guild, which had previously accused the firm of antitrust violations. As part of the merger agreement, Skydance has committed to producing 30 films over the first two years, followed by 32 films annually for the subsequent three-year period. The company will be required to pay a $30 million penalty to the state for every project that fails to meet these production targets.
