Holly Hunter, the voice behind Elastigirl, has confirmed that production on the third Incredibles film is just around the corner.
“I think I start in March… With The Incredibles, you never really know what the story is. I usually come in and record with Brad [Bird]… I believe he wrote the script. I think it’s going to be thrilling,” Hunter shared during a conversation with ScreenRant.
In a shift for the franchise, Peter Sohn (director of Elemental and The Good Dinosaur) will step into the director’s chair, succeeding Brad Bird. The three-quel was officially announced in the summer of 2024, though Pixar has yet to confirm a specific release window.
The beloved Pixar series launched in 2004, introducing the world to the Parr family: Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack. After a long-awaited sequel arrived in 2018, the franchise’s total global box office earnings reached a staggering $1.87 billion.
