British broadcaster Sky is currently developing a scripted series inspired by Stieg Larsson’s iconic masterpiece, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” according to reports from Variety.
Steering the project as showrunners are Steven Lightfoot (Hannibal) and Angela LaManna (The Haunting of Bly Manor). The production roster also includes Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin, both of whom were behind David Fincher’s 2011 high-profile Hollywood adaptation.
The original literary trilogy centers on the brilliant and enigmatic hacker Lisbeth Salander as she uncovers a series of grisly crimes. Aside from the American version, the most prominent adaptation remains the acclaimed 2009 Swedish film series starring Noomi Rapace.
Details regarding the ensemble cast and the official premiere date remain under wraps for the time being.
