The Apothecary Diaries Season 3 Receives New Trailer Ahead of Premiere

The premiere of the new episodes will take place on October 2.

The third season of The Apothecary Diaries received a new trailer one week ahead of its premiere. The video features the first public preview of the ending theme “AIYOU” by Japanese musician Eve, following the earlier reveal of the opening theme “Kumo wo Nuke Kazashimo e Watashi Dake” by the band Yorushika.

In the third season, Maomao’s new investigation begins right at breakfast when locusts are served and she suspects something is amiss. Her search for answers takes her beyond the imperial palace, first to the city streets and then to a neighboring state. Meanwhile, Gyokuyou has to take on the responsibilities of the emperor’s younger brother and deal with signs of an impending disaster facing the country.

Production is handled by studio OLM. Akinori Fudesaka serves as director, Norihiro Naganuma is in charge of series composition, and Yukiko Nakatani prepared the character designs. The music is composed by Satoru Kousaki, Kevin Penkin, and Arisa Okehazama.

The third season launches on October 2 and will be split into two cours. The second half will begin airing in April 2027. During the break on December 11, Japanese theaters will host the premiere of a full-length feature anime featuring an original story by light novel author Natsu Hyuuga.

Additionally, a live-action series based on The Apothecary Diaries is in development for Prime Video.
