<p>Unlike the peaceful monks of Aang's formative years, Tagah quickly exposes a harsher truth: he is a hardened, aggressive Air Nomad who has embraced might, ruthlessness, and retribution. He serves as the ultimate foil to Aang. Recall that rather than execute Fire Lord Ozai, Aang opted to permanently strip him of his bending. Tagah acts as a living reflection of what Aang might degenerate into if he ever allowed grief to completely consume his moral compass.</p>
<p>Their ideological collision far transcends a rudimentary conflict of good versus evil. Aang fundamentally shares Tagah's aspirations for restoration, yet he can never reconcile inflicting suffering upon innocents to achieve those ends.
