Taylor Sheridan has written the script for Sicario 3
Taylor Sheridan has officially finalized the screenplay for the third installment of the Sicario franchise. Having written the first two entries, Sheridan has returned to the series to craft the next chapter. This development was disclosed in a recent Variety report detailing the strategic roadmaps for Paramount and Universal, marking the first time his involvement in the upcoming project has been directly confirmed.
Specific plot details remain under wraps, and a director has yet to be attached to the production. However, Josh Brolin hinted back in August that work on the third film could be poised to begin in the near future.
The initial two films in the Sicario saga premiered in 2015 and 2018, respectively. While Sheridan authored the scripts for both, the original was famously helmed by Denis Villeneuve. The series chronicles the high-stakes, gritty conflict between U.S. federal agents and ruthless Mexican drug cartels.
