Tame Impala Unveils Deadbeat, a Dance-Forward Return from Kevin Parker
By Billboard — Oct. 17, 2025

Kevin Parker shifts the clock forward and the lights back on the dancefloor with Deadbeat, the fifth studio album from Tame Impala.
Released at midnight on Oct. 17, 2025, the record finds Parker balancing widescreen pop production with the raw, communal energy of the Australian rave circuit.
Deadbeat marks Parker’s first full-length release in five years and his debut under the Sony umbrella through Columbia Records, following a new label arrangement. Columbia Records handles the rollout.
The album draws heavily on the “bush doof” culture of Western Australia — the open‑air raves and communal parties that shaped Parker’s youth — a vibe that’s captured most vividly on the album’s initial single, “End of Summer.”

Parker will put together a live band to support the release and has announced an extensive string of European and U.K. dates for spring 2026, beginning April 4 at Super Bock Arena in Porto and concluding May 13 at 3Arena in Dublin. For full tour details, visit tameimpala.com.
Stateside, The Deadbeat Tour launches Oct. 27 with a North American stop at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where Parker and his collaborators will present the new material in a live setting.
Deadbeat arrives roughly five years after 2020’s The Slow Rush. That album reached No. 1 on Australia’s ARIA chart and peaked at No. 3 on both the Billboard 200 and the U.K. Albums Chart. Earlier still, 2015’s Currents topped the ARIA chart and broke into the top five in the U.S. and U.K., earning Tame Impala wider international recognition.
Earlier this year Parker earned his first Grammy win — a long‑awaited nod following five nominations — when his collaboration “Neverender” with French duo Justice took home Best Dance/Electronic Recording.
Deadbeat includes previously released tracks such as “Loser” and “Dracula,” the latter marking Tame Impala’s first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, where it debuted at No. 55. Stream the full album below.
