Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick stated that the company does not intend to cut costs on developers using artificial intelligence and will use the technology solely to enhance creative potential.

Artificial intelligence has become one of the most controversial topics in the gaming industry. Some companies require employees to use new tools, while others expect to significantly reduce expenses through them. This raises concerns that the technology will begin replacing developers rather than complementing them.

Strauss Zelnick shared Take-Two’s position during an earnings call. The company head noted that the publisher has used AI and machine learning for many years, but views them as a way to expand the capabilities of its roughly 13,000 employees.

The technology can enhance their creative potential, but we do not believe it can or should replace it.

According to him, the available tools will not take away people’s jobs.

The Take-Two head noted that competitors expect to save hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to AI. His company does not plan to go down that path. The new technology should help teams create larger and higher-quality games rather than be used primarily to cut costs.
