Take-Two Expresses Confidence That Players Will Buy Pricier Consoles for GTA VI
Take-Two Interactive leadership remains confident in the future despite a challenging climate in the gaming industry where hardware prices have hit record levels.
Take-Two Chief Executive Officer Strauss Zelnick stated that rising prices for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S will not negatively impact sales of Grand Theft Auto VI. Take-Two expects the game to reach absolute record levels of popularity despite financial barriers for buyers purchasing new consoles.
During a call with investors, Zelnick acknowledged that high console prices are unfavorable for the entire industry. More affordable hardware would increase the pool of potential players. At the same time, the Take-Two head expressed confidence that higher equipment costs will not stand in the way of GTA VI, noting that players are willing to spend money on the highest-quality gaming experiences.

Analysts and Take-Two executives believe that the release of GTA 6 will serve as the primary driver for console sales growth. Many users who have delayed upgrading to the current generation due to high prices may purchase consoles specifically for the Rockstar Games title.
