Take-Two Does Not Rule Out Expanding L.A. Noire

During the Interactive Innovation Conference (iicon), held in Las Vegas from April 27–29, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, appeared as a featured guest. In a conversation with a Variety correspondent, Zelnick offered some compelling perspectives on the company’s future portfolio.

When questioned about the potential revival of the L.A. Noire franchise, Zelnick responded with a cautious but optimistic tone, noting:

“You never know. Broadly speaking, we are exploring ways to leverage our entire catalog of intellectual property in the future.”

He was quick to temper expectations, emphasizing that there are no immediate plans to disclose. He noted that should any projects materialize, official word would come directly from the team at Rockstar Games.

While this statement falls short of confirming a direct sequel, a cinematic adaptation, or any specific project, it suggests that the franchise remains on the company’s radar. This marks a notable shift in transparency, especially following the game’s platform re-releases nearly a decade ago and the subsequent dismissal of a potential spiritual successor. It is also worth observing that the original developers were formally integrated into the company last year, keeping the door to the noir-detective series slightly ajar.
