Pacific Drive has been added to Xbox Game Pass unexpectedly. The Ironwood Studios title was previously showcased during State of Play, released standalone trailers, and was regarded as a PS5 and PC exclusive.
It seems the exclusivity period has ended: without any formal announcements, Pacific Drive is now available on Xbox Series X|S consoles via the Game Pass subscription.
Microsoft had not announced plans to add the game to the service.
The game has earned positive reviews. Pacific Drive merges survival, exploration, and driving simulation. Players pilot an aging car across a fictionalized Olympic Peninsula while avoiding dangerous anomalies. Vehicles can be repaired, upgraded, and customized in the garage, and each outing into the world is a risky but captivating experience.
The title holds roughly an 80% score on Metacritic. Critics highlighted the atmosphere, the vehicle’s distinctive design, and the pervasive sense of isolation that builds tension. Despite its difficulty and occasional repetition, Pacific Drive has become one of the most original indie projects of recent years.
Additionally, the developers released the Whisper in the Woods DLC.
