Strong Start but No Record: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Sales Revealed
The developers of Pokémon Legends: Z-A have confirmed the results achieved by the new adventure starring the little creatures. The title has enjoyed considerable success, but it remains some distance from the all-time record.
The Pokémon Company published preliminary sales figures for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, suggesting the franchise still commands strong player loyalty. The new entry shifted 5.8 million units in its first week on sale.
The game launched on October 16, 2025, and is available for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Interestingly, about half of all copies sold were for the new console. In Japan alone the project moved 1.48 million units, making it one of the region’s standout releases of the year.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A did not break the previous benchmark — Pokémon Legends: Arceus sold 6.5 million copies over the same period.
