“Street Fighter” Tops the US Box Office
The big-screen adaptation of the iconic video game franchise Street Fighter claimed the top spot at the North American box office, earning roughly $31 million over its opening weekend. Released by Paramount and Legendary, the film debuted in 3,575 theaters. That figure falls short of the launch of Mortal Kombat II, which brought in $38.5 million in May 2026. The new adaptation’s budget is estimated at $82 million.
The biggest surprise of the weekend was the documentary You Can See Everything from directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim. The film, which examines former Theranos chief Elizabeth Holmes, grossed about $15 million despite a limited release in just 855 theaters.
It stands among the strongest openings for a documentary in recent decades. The film has also won over critics, with its Rotten Tomatoes score reaching 99%.
