Moses Sumney, serpentwithfeet, Rapsody, Jon Batiste, Tank and the Bangas, Oshun, Phony Ppl, and extra will carry out at Soundtrack of America, a five-night live performance collection conceived and directed by filmmaker Steve McQueen, and developed partly by Quincy Jones, producer No I.D., Maureen Mahon, Tunji Balogun, and Greg Phillinganes. The performances will happen on April 5, 7, 9, 12, and 14 at Manhattan’s forthcoming arts middle The Shed. The collection will function 25 early-career artists and particular friends “celebrating the influence of African American music,” based on the event’s website.
