Steve Buscemi Cast in FX’s Live-Action Far Cry Anthology Series

The highly anticipated live-action Far Cry anthology series from FX has officially tapped Steve Buscemi for a role. This addition bolsters a compelling ensemble that already features It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia mastermind Rob McElhenney—who is also spearheading the project as co-showrunner—and the talented Lizzy Caplan.

Buscemi brings a wealth of prestige to the production, drawing from a storied career that spans legendary cinema classics like Reservoir Dogs, Fargo, and The Big Lebowski, alongside standout television performances in Boardwalk Empire and Wednesday. While fans surely recognize him from his iconic internet presence, his specific character in this adaptation remains shrouded in mystery.

The Far Cry series is structured as a limited anthology, with each installment promising a distinct narrative, setting, and cast. At this stage, it remains unclear whether these episodes will be direct adaptations of the popular Ubisoft franchise or if they will chart entirely new creative territory. The project is being brought to life by a powerhouse creative team, including Rob McElhenney and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX’s Fargo and Alien: Earth.

While an official release window has yet to be finalized, the series is slated to debut on FX and Hulu, with international distribution handled by Disney+.
