Following last summer’s initial reveal of Splatoon Raiders—a fresh PvE spin-off to Nintendo’s celebrated team-shooter franchise—we finally have more details. After a quiet spell, a vibrant new trailer has confirmed that the title will officially hit shelves on July 23.

This Switch 2 exclusive casts players as a customizable Inkling mechanic, journeying to the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the fan-favorite musical trio, Deep Cut. Players will navigate hostile territory swarming with Salmonids, utilizing the series’ signature ink-based weaponry to clear their path.

The latest footage offers a glimpse into a more expansive, open-world structure, highlighting exploration, treasure hunting, and a robust crafting system that introduces new gear like axes and paint-firing turrets. Additionally, Nintendo addressed a previous misconception; while initially positioned as a solo campaign, a recent official social media update confirmed that the game will support online co-op for up to four players.

To coincide with the July launch, Nintendo is releasing a new wave of Amiibo figures featuring Shiver, Big Man, and Frye. These collectibles will be available for purchase the same day the game releases.

While the competitive multiplayer of Splatoon is iconic, the franchise’s single-player offerings have always been hidden gems. I am genuinely curious to see how this transition into a dedicated standalone adventure unfolds. In the meantime, catch up on the series by revisiting our Splatoon 3 review.
