Spider-Man Sets Domestic Box Office Record Reaching $500 Million Fastest in North America

Peter Parker’s new adventures have surpassed another milestone set by Avengers: Endgame.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day set a new box office record in North America. The film directed by Destin Daniel Cretton crossed the $500 million mark just seven days after its premiere.

The previous record belonged to Avengers: Endgame, which took eight days to reach that milestone in 2019. Star Wars: The Force Awakens achieved the same result in ten days, while Spider-Man: No Way Home did it in twelve.

Brand New Day also started screening in IMAX during its second week. During the opening weekend, all screens for the format were occupied by Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, but operators will now split screenings between the two blockbusters.

The film’s next target could be the second-weekend record in North America. The Force Awakens currently holds that record with $149.2 million. Analysts suggest that Brand New Day might approach or surpass this result.

Earlier, the comic book film set an opening weekend record in the United States and Canada by grossing $360 million compared to $357.1 million for Avengers: Endgame. In six days, the worldwide earnings of the movie starring Tom Holland exceeded $1 billion.
