Sonic Frontiers: 7 min of pure gameplay for SEGA's open world, it's sad

After the little teaser of a few seconds yesterday which revealed an excerpt from the open world gameplay of the next Sonic Frontiers, SEGA is teaming up with the IGN.com site to unveil this time a complete sequence of 7 min where we can finally see our blue hedgehog behave in a totally open world. What is obvious is the very serious atmosphere that emanates from this title, the antithesis of previous Sonic games to which we were fed. It’s probably intentional, but even the colorimetry seems somewhat sad. If the feeling of freedom seems present, difficult not to see a totally empty world where Sonic seems to be alone in the world. Apart from enemies to eliminate and a few seagulls that accompany him when he picks up speed, Sonic moves according to the decorative elements that allow him to go faster. The grind on rails for example, the bumpers, but also the acceleration corridors are very present in the game, and there will even be scouting towers to activate to open the game areas no doubt. The release date of Sonic Frontiers is still unclear, we just know that it will be released in the winter of 2022, but we are not immune to a delay for the beginning of the year 2023.
