Shawn Mendes’ new album has lastly arrived, as he dropped his latest full-length mission Shawn on Friday (Nov. 15).
The self-titled album options the beforehand launched singles “Why Why Why,” “Isn’t That Enough,” “Nobody Knows” and “Heart of Gold.”
Mendes initially shared the album trailer again in July via social media, and the clip options the 26-year-old star enjoying guitar in a forest, and at a campfire surrounded by mates singing “Isn’t That Enough.” He opened up within the caption, writing, “Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn’t step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift.”
He continued his considerate message by thanking his followers and family members. “Honestly thank god for my friends and family,” he wrote. “Life can be brutal but having a small group of people you deeply trust to walk you through makes it so much better. I have no idea how I would have made it through the last couple years let alone make an album without you.”
Shawn is the star’s fifth studio album and follows 2020’s Wonder in addition to Mendes’ earlier self-titled mission, 2018’s Shawn Mendes. The album was written and co-produced by Mendes, together with collaborators Scott Harris, Mike Sabath, Nate Mercereau and Eddie Benjamin, with further songs co-written by Amy Allen and Ethan Gruska.
