Sharon Stone to Star in Hollywood Satire

Basic Instinct icon Sharon Stone has officially joined the cast of the upcoming feature Speed-the-Plow. The project is set to be written and directed by the legendary playwright David Mamet, the creative mind behind The Untouchables.

The film is an adaptation of Mamet’s celebrated 1988 stage play. The story unfolds at the fictional “American Prestige” film studio, following the maneuvers of ambitious executive Bob Gould (Anthony Mackie). Gould is determined to climb the corporate ladder by outsmarting his rivals and managing the volatile demands of the industry’s most eccentric power players.

Stone is slated to portray movie star Jemma Speed. The ensemble also features Ben Mendelsohn (Andor) and Emily Alyn Lind (We Were Liars). A premiere date for the production has not yet been confirmed.

In addition to this role, Stone is scheduled to appear in the highly anticipated third season of HBO’s Euphoria.
