Amy Madigan, best known for her role in the horror film The Tools, has joined the cast of the highly anticipated The X-Files reboot. She will be joined by Ben Foster, Steve Buscemi, and Scary Movie star Lochlyn Munro. The lead roles have been secured by Himesh Patel (Yesterday) and Danielle Deadwyler (Station Eleven).
Ryan Coogler is penning the script for the series and is set to direct the pilot episode. Jennifer Yale, an executive producer on Outlander, will serve as the showrunner.
Original series creator Chris Carter is attached as an executive producer. A premiere date has yet to be announced.
