Amazon has officially tapped a new creative lead for the hit series Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Anna Ouyang Moench, whose impressive credits include Severance and Beef, will serve as showrunner for the upcoming second season.
While production on the new chapters was originally slated for last year, the project faced temporary delays. Taking center stage in the new installment are Mark Eydelshteyn (Anora) and Sophie Thatcher (Heretic). A specific release window has yet to be announced.
The inaugural season, headlined by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, debuted on Prime Video in 2024. Reimagining the 2005 action blockbuster, the story follows two clandestine operatives forced into a sham marriage, only to discover that their manufactured romance is becoming unexpectedly real.
