Selena Gomez Reflects on ‘Revival’ a Decade Later: ‘I Had Bangs and Thought I Was a Rockstar’

Selena Gomez marked the tenth anniversary of her 2015 album Revival on Thursday, celebrating the milestone by sharing a collection of nostalgic photos on Instagram and directing fans to a limited anniversary merch drop on her official store.

In an Instagram carousel posted Oct. 9, the singer wrote, “Happy 10 YEARS of my album Revival!!!” and reflected on that period of her life with playful candor: “The year was 2015, I had bangs and thought I was a rockstar.”

“The year was 2015, I had bangs and thought I was a rockstar. What a time!! Thank you for those who have sang to every song with me and for making that chapter of my life so memorable!! LOVE YOU.”

The throwback images include a candid shot of Gomez seated on a kitchen island beneath balloon letters spelling out “Revival,” as well as performance photos and fan moments from her 2016 Revival Tour.

Alongside the post, Gomez used her Instagram Story to share a link to anniversary apparel and collectibles, giving fans the chance to purchase commemorative items from her online shop.

Originally released on Oct. 9, 2015, Revival was Gomez’s second solo studio album. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned several of her signature hits, including the top-10 Hot 100 singles “Hands to Myself” and “Same Old Love.”

Since Revival, Gomez has expanded her musical repertoire with albums such as 2020’s Rare and the collaborative 2025 project I Said I Love You First, recorded with her husband Benny Blanco. The couple married in California in late September.

Beyond music, Gomez has grown her business and creative ventures: she launched Rare Beauty in 2019 and has continued to build the brand alongside her acting and producing work. Her performances and producing credits include Emmy-winning contributions to Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and she received a Golden Globe nomination for her role in the film Emilia Pérez.
