A musical biopic about the acclaimed Russian rapper Basta (Vasily Vakulenko), titled Basta: The Game Begins, has been announced by representatives of the Temp Film Company.
The identity of the actor cast in the lead role is being kept secret — the part will be portrayed by a young rising star from the national film scene. Stas Ivanov (director of The Surgeon) will write and direct the picture.
The story takes place in early-2000s Rostov, following the rapper as he searches for his artistic voice while facing skepticism and rival competitors. A release date has not yet been revealed.
