Mere weeks following the introduction of Fortnite’s enduring OG mode, it seems Epic Games is gearing up to reintroduce exclusive Season 1 cosmetics to the Shop for the first time ever.
In an unforeseen update to the Fortnite API, Epic has uploaded fresh Item Shop image assets to the server for the ‘Renegade Raider’ and ‘Aerial Assault Trooper’ Outfits. These new assets feature highlighted images for the LEGO Styles of both characters, alongside a newly designed standard render for the Aerial Assault Trooper.
Epic usually incorporates new assets into the API shortly before they debut in the Item Shop, prompting speculation that the Season 1 Outfits might return by tomorrow. Further supporting this, insiders have uncovered that the latest v33.11 update has reinstated the iconic ‘Season Shop’ within the game files, paired with enhancements for the updated XP system.
The Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper Outfits were first available in the ‘Season Shop’ during the initial months of Battle Royale in 2017. Players had to reach certain Levels to purchase the offered cosmetics, which also included a coordinating Glider and Pickaxe. This Shop was subsequently removed with the introduction of Season 2, being replaced by the Battle Pass system.
As of this writing, Epic Games has not provided any official statements concerning the comeback of these cosmetics. Stay tuned for further updates.
