Rumor: Microsoft Lays Off Most Halo Studios Staff, Leaving 20 Employees
The studio was hit harder by the latest layoffs than any other.
Halo Studios was among the hardest-hit units in Microsoft’s latest round of layoffs tied to the restructuring of the Xbox gaming business. At the same time, the company announced that the development of future Halo games is moving under the leadership of Activision.
According to unconfirmed reports, the studio’s staff has shrunk to approximately 20 people following the layoffs.

Professional player aPureGangster shared the information about such a small number of remaining employees. As Technical Halo reports, he claims to have received this information from a "very, very reliable source."
Meanwhile, the scale of the layoffs aligns with other reports. Windows Central journalist Jez Corden previously stated that Halo Studios faced "massive layoffs" that could affect hundreds of employees. Exact figures will likely become known later.
