Rom-com “Too Much” to Be Canceled After One Season

According to reports, Netflix will not renew the romantic-comedy series “Too Much” for a second season.

Creator Lena Dunham (“Girls”) says the show was always conceived as a limited series. “Too Much” was inspired by aspects of Dunham’s own life. The story follows Jessica, who, after a breakup, moves from New York to London in search of love. In the unfamiliar city she meets an indie musician who is far from a fairy-tale prince.

The leads are played by Meg Stalter (“Hacks”) and Will Sharpe (“The White Lotus”). The supporting cast includes Naomi Watts, Stephen Fry, Andrew Scott, Kit Harington, Jessica Alba, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Emily Ratajkowski and others.

“Too Much” premiered on the streaming service in July and received generally positive reviews from critics (79% on Rotten Tomatoes).
