Rod Wave Arrested in Atlanta on Weapons and Drug Charges

Rapper-singer Rod Wave, born Rodarius Green, was arrested in Fulton County, Georgia on Friday, November 7, 2025, and booked on a slate of weapon and drug-related offenses. Authorities allege he was in possession of a firearm or knife in connection with other alleged felonies, and charged him with reckless driving, possession of a Schedule V controlled substance and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, according to reporting by TMZ.

Following the arrest, Rod Wave was processed at the Fulton County Jail; local outlet Fox 5 Atlanta reports he remained in custody the following morning. His attorney, Drew Findling, told TMZ that the artist made an initial court appearance and that bond was set at $8,000.

Officials had not released a full account of the events that led to the arrest at the time of reporting.

This incident follows earlier legal encounters. In May of this year, Rod Wave was arrested in Georgia and again booked into Fulton County Jail on allegations that included aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm; court filings from that episode added multiple counts such as aiming a pistol at another person, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, obstruction of law enforcement, tampering with evidence, conspiracy to commit a felony and simple assault. Those charges were said to stem from an alleged April 21 altercation; he was released that day after posting a $50,000 bond. “There is no truth to these charges,” his attorney Drew Findling told Billboard at the time.

Earlier legal matters also include gun-related charges in April 2024 in Manatee County, Florida, where authorities investigated an alleged connection to a shooting at a St. Petersburg sports bar, and a 2022 arrest on a felony battery-by-strangulation claim that was later dropped.

On the music front, Rod Wave released the singles “Westside Connection” and “Sinners” in 2025 — the latter appears on the Sinners movie soundtrack and underscores the film’s closing scene. His most recent full-length project, Last Lap, arrived in October 2024 and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart.
