Rockstar Social Club Discontinues GTA 5 and GTA Online Selfies or Mugshots as Avatars
A fresh technical update has surfaced on the Rockstar Games Support portal, though it remains hidden from the general public for the time being. The article details the impending removal of yet another community feature—a move consistent with the developer’s tendency to confirm such changes only as they are being implemented.

Effective March 9, players will no longer have the option to use Snapmatic selfies or in-game mugshots from GTA 5 and GTA Online as their Social Club avatars. This specific category is slated for removal from the avatar selection menu entirely.
However, there is a brief window of opportunity for those who wish to preserve their custom look. Any user who currently has a Snapmatic photo set as their profile picture—or anyone who switches to one before the deadline—will be permitted to retain it indefinitely. If you plan on keeping a unique character avatar, you have roughly a week and a half to finalize your choice.
