Rockstar and Take-Two: Rockstar Racing and the Attempt to Replicate Nürburgring’s Success
On Saturday, June 1st, the 52nd annual “24 Hours of Nürburgring” race, one of the most famous in motorsport, kicked off. After a triumphant debut in 2022 and a break last year, the Rockstar Racing team (also known as Viken Motorsport), partially comprising GTA developers, participated. The “rock stars” could not replicate their previous result; they finished 84th overall (out of 130+ cars) and second out of four in their class, just 2 seconds behind the winner. Although there was a chance their competitor could be penalized, that did not happen. Nonetheless, this is an excellent achievement considering the track’s challenging weather conditions — the race had to be paused due to heavy fog.
More photos, videos, and stories about the team’s daily life can be found on the Viken Motorsport Facebook page.
