Ridley Scott’s “The Dog Stars” Gets an Online Release Date
Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama The Dog Stars will arrive on digital platforms abroad on October 27, according to WhenToStream.
The film stars Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin and Guy Pearce. It is based on Peter Heller’s novel of the same name, which is set in a future where a mysterious virus has wiped out most of humanity. The protagonist, Hig (Elordi), lives with his loyal dog in a hangar at an abandoned airport, and before long he sets out to search for the remnants of civilization.
Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) adapted the screenplay. The Dog Stars flopped at the box office, earning less than $40 million against a $110 million budget. Critics weren’t kind to it either, giving it a 41% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
