Resident Evil Requiem Tops UK Sales — Physical Is Still Alive

Capcom’s latest release, which debuted in late February, has swiftly cemented its status as a major commercial triumph.

The title surged to the top of the most recent UK sales rankings. These figures specifically track physical media, highlighting that British gamers still maintain a strong affinity for boxed editions.

According to data from GfK Chart-Track, Requiem emerged as the week’s definitive leader. A significant 54% of buyers opted for the PlayStation 5 version, while the PC edition followed with 36%. The Xbox Series X and Series S versions accounted for 6% of sales, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version representing 4%.

The relatively small share on the Switch 2 isn’t necessarily a critique of its Game-Key Card format. Interestingly, the third spot on the chart was claimed by the Resident Evil Generation Pack, a comprehensive bundle featuring Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil Village, and Requiem.

Christopher Dring, an analyst at The Game Business, noted that Requiem’s opening week on the Switch 2 actually outperformed Mario Tennis Fever. Additionally, its debut was comparable to the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition exactly one year ago.
