Following the departure of Remedy Entertainment’s long-standing leadership, a new era has begun at the studio—though it is being met with a degree of skepticism from the community. Taking the helm as the new CEO is Jean-Charles Gaudechon, a former Electronic Arts veteran. Gaudechon’s professional background, which includes extensive experience with microtransactions and betting-inspired mechanics within the mobile gaming sphere, has sparked significant apprehension among fans. There are growing concerns that the studio’s traditionally player-centric philosophy might shift toward more aggressive monetization strategies.

On a more cinematic note, the recent PlayStation State of Play served as the stage for the debut gameplay trailer of the studio’s next highly anticipated project: Control Resonant. This sequel to the 2019 supernatural hit promises to expand on the atmospheric and mind-bending world that defined the original title.

Regarding the Max Payne 1&2 Remake, the project was briefly highlighted in Remedy’s latest financial report. While no groundbreaking updates were provided, the studio confirmed that development remains in full swing. However, they reiterated that all official communication regarding the remakes is strictly under the jurisdiction of Rockstar Games. Given the current industry landscape, it is widely expected that the publisher will prioritize the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI before turning the spotlight onto the legendary detective’s return, likely pushing the release to 2026 or beyond.
