Nina Volova’s dramedy Fireworks in the Daytime, a standout winner at the recent Mayak Film Festival, is set to hit Russian theaters on June 11. The narrative centers on three sisters living in a lavish mansion with their once-prosperous father. As the family faces difficult times and the patriarch is forced to put their estate up for sale, the sisters vehemently oppose the decision.
The film features an ensemble cast including Aleksandr Robak, Wang Bing, Masha Raskina, Vera Engalycheva, Darya Konyzheva, and Olesya Sudzilovskaya.
At the Mayak festival, Volova’s work was honored with the award for Best Debut.
