Realistic Shooters Emerge as New Trend on Steam

Realistic shooters are gaining popularity on Steam, as Bodycam has set a new concurrent player record and Hell Let Loose: Vietnam has also achieved the best result in the history of the series.

Just a few years ago, realistic shooters were considered a niche genre, but the situation is changing. One month ago, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam attracted more than 30,000 concurrent players, setting a series record.

Interest in Bodycam has increased noticeably in recent days. On Sunday, the game’s concurrent player count reached 38,958 and continues to hold strong. The project recently received its largest update since release, with developers adding trench warfare scenarios, improved weapon handling animations, and sound design featuring acoustic wave propagation simulation.

The creators of Wardogs are also celebrating success. The game has spent a week in the top ten best-selling projects on Steam and has received numerous positive reviews following its beta tests. Its release is scheduled for September 10, 2026.

Three positions in the Steam sales chart are currently held by third-person shooters, with the second and third places belonging to realistic tactical shooters. Bodycam is generating more revenue on Steam than the new Onimusha and The Blood of Dawnwalker.
