Quentin Tarantino Names the Best Films of the 21st Century

Pulp Fiction director Quentin Tarantino has revealed his top ten films released in the 21st century.

The list is led by Ridley Scott’s 2001 action drama Black Hawk Down. Tarantino described the picture as a genuine masterpiece:

“…one of the things I admire about it is that […] it’s the only film that truly fulfils the idea behind Apocalypse Now. The visuals and the atmosphere… it runs for 2 hours and 45 minutes… my heart was racing throughout the entire film; it seized me and never let go. The directorial achievement is simply astonishing,” he said on The Bret Easton Ellis Podcast.

Also featured on the list were Toy Story 3, Lost in Translation, Dunkirk, There Will Be Blood, Zodiac, Mad Max: Fury Road and Midnight in Paris.

Tarantino’s most recent feature, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood, was released in 2019. The filmmaker has said he intends to retire after completing his tenth film.
