Quentin Tarantino Names David Fincher His Favorite Director
Quentin Tarantino, the mind behind Pulp Fiction, has revealed which filmmaker he admires most.
His pick is David Fincher, who directed The Adventures of Cliff Booth, the follow-up to Tarantino’s own Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
He’s my favorite director, after myself,
Tarantino joked on The Graham Norton Show.
Tarantino recalled that he never considered Fincher for the director’s chair on Cliff Booth until the film’s star, Brad Pitt, brought him up. Pitt had previously worked with Fincher on Fight Club and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
When Brad asked, “What if David did it?”, I said, “Wow, if you think he’d be interested, then absolutely.” Then he read the script and got excited, we sat down and talked, and it was a match made in heaven,
Tarantino shared.
The Adventures of Cliff Booth arrives on Netflix on December 23.
