The Spanish retail outlet Wakkap inadvertently leaked details regarding an upcoming physical release of Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 5. Although the store promptly pulled the listing, eagle-eyed members of the gaming community managed to capture the information before it vanished.
According to the leak, the game is slated for release on May 7 with a price tag of €32.90. The package will include the enhanced current-gen version of the base game alongside the beloved Undead Nightmare expansion. Notably, this version does not feature any multiplayer components.
Disappointingly, collectors should not anticipate the inclusion of a physical game world map, a staple feature of the original PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases. Modern reprints have largely moved away from including these nostalgic posters, which may dampen the appeal for hardcore enthusiasts. Nevertheless, this physical launch serves as a practical response to ongoing requests from the player base.
Regarding a potential release for Xbox Series X, the outlook remains uncertain. In recent years, Microsoft has noticeably pivoted away from physical media, prioritizing digital distribution and increasingly phasing out disc-based software in many regions.
