Pokémon Hotel Invites Guests to Travel Luggage-Free With Provided Wardrobes
Earlier this year, the renowned Japanese hotel chain Mimaru revealed plans to refresh and expand its highly popular Pokémon Rooms. These apartment-style suites offer a fully immersive experience, featuring vibrant wall graphics, themed furniture, and Poké Ball-inspired décor throughout the living space. Guests are even welcomed by a massive, huggable Snorlax plush resting on the bed.
In a creative move to simplify international travel, Mimaru recently announced a collaboration with the service Any Wear, Anywhere. The partnership suggests a bold new way to visit Japan: by leaving your entire wardrobe at home. To be clear—this isn’t an invitation to walk the halls in your birthday suit!
According to official details, Any Wear, Anywhere operates as a specialized “clothing-sharing platform.” For those booking a stay in a Pokémon Room, the service enables international visitors to rent a curated selection of daily outfits that are delivered straight to their accommodation.
So, put those stray thoughts away; it’s strictly about fashion and convenience.
The service is designed to eliminate the logistical stress of overpacking and the nightmare of lost luggage. By renting high-quality apparel locally, travelers can navigate Japan’s bustling cities with much more freedom. As the Any Wear, Anywhere team puts it, the goal is to provide outfits you’ll actually enjoy wearing so you can “travel light, move freely, and focus on what truly matters.” While some might argue that a Pikachu onesie is the ultimate travel attire, this rental program is a game-changer for tourists who don’t own heavy winter gear or those who want to save every square inch of suitcase space for a massive haul of Japanese souvenirs and collectibles.
This innovative clothing rental initiative is currently running as a pilot program through the end of next month. Meanwhile, reservations for the themed Pokémon Rooms are currently available through November. This unique experience can be found across 10 different Mimaru locations in the major hubs of Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.
