Playtest for Idle MMORPG Dominus Automa Begins on Steam

Studio Metashift Labs has launched a playtest for Dominus Automa, an automated MMORPG designed for MMORPG fans who no longer have time for endless grinding.

The developers describe the game as a title for “busy adults who no longer have endless hours to game.” The team has brought idle-RPG principles from smartphones to a full-fledged PC project, offering an online game where the user chooses a class, abilities, combat style, and hero priorities. After that, the character trains, fights, gathers resources, and crafts items around the clock, even after the player logs off. The developers also promise the ability to check progress and issue commands from a smartphone or via voice control.

Despite the automated leveling, Dominus Automa will offer familiar MMORPG elements such as cooperative world exploration, dungeons, boss fights, guild wars, and a player-driven economy. The main idea behind the project is to let users choose which content to engage with independently, without needing to maintain a constant gaming schedule.

“From the very beginning, we built Dominus Automa around one simple idea: your gaming schedule should not dictate your progress. Play when it is convenient for you and move forward at your own pace.”

The test version features leveling up to level 25, 24 skills, ten locations, 20 enemy types, and three bosses. The playtest for Dominus Automa runs from August 7 through August 23. Players can join on the game’s Steam page.
