PlayStation on a Pocket Xbox? How the ROG Xbox Ally X Runs God of War and The Last of Us

Players can now try the ROG Xbox Ally X and assess the capabilities of Microsoft’s handheld platform. The videos demonstrate PlayStation titles running on the device, including The Last of Us, God of War, and more.

The device runs Windows and supports Xbox apps as well as PC versions of games, including Sony’s library. Practically, this means you can launch God of War, Spider-Man Remastered, Horizon Forbidden West, and The Last of Us Part I. The redesigned hardware and enhanced performance deliver smooth gameplay, and graphics settings can be adjusted much like on a PC.

The footage features Uncharted 4, Days Gone, Returnal, Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man 2, God of War, God of War Ragnarök, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, The Last of Us Part I, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition.

Thanks to Game Pass, tight integration with Microsoft’s ecosystem, and the Xbox interface, the ROG Xbox Ally X can be thought of as a “portable Xbox.” In essence, however, it’s a handheld PC capable of running titles from almost any platform.
